WANTED: ‘Deeply Talented’ Editor for WaPo Style Section

Out with the old. In with the new. With yesterday’s announcement of Ned Martel‘s departure from Style , Wapo begins its search for a new editor. Management issued an internal memo to staff today asking for a a “great thinker and motivator” a “creative leader who will push Style to new heights IN PRINT AND ONLINE.” Those all-caps will either frighten someone or motivate them.

With Ned Martel’s departure to the campaign trail, we are looking for a new Style editor. This is one of our highest profile positions, entrusted with the success and growth of one of the best newspaper sections in the business. We are looking for a great thinker and motivator, a partner for a deeply talented staff of reporters and editors, a creative leader who will push Style to new heights IN PRINT AND ONLINE. This editor will report directly to Kevin Sullivan, who will be assuming a more hands-on role in running the section.
