WaPo Blogger ‘Reeks of Arrogance and Stupidity’

FBDC HATE.jpg

On Wednesday night, WaPo conservative blogger Dave Weigel tweeted MSNBC host Keith Olbermann: “Thanks for having me on, @KeithOlbermann. You’re right. You’ll always have more hatemail than me.”

On the show, Weigel looked like he wanted sympathy, like he’d been dragged through the mud this week by all the hate mail he’d received.

He’s right. Olbermann might receive more. But Weigel got clobbered by some 50 pieces of mail dripping with hate this week after writing a story saying former VP hopeful Sarah Palin getting upset about a journo planning a book on being her neighbor and renting a house next door was “strange, unprofessional and paranoid.” He wrote: “Politicians don’t have veto power over who gets to write about them, or how they research their stories, as long as they’re within the bounds of the law.”

A sampling of Weigel hate mail found on Washingtonpost.com (we’ve highlighted some of the more interesting words and phrases):

You’re a strange little man, David Weigel.
You’re an apologist for a weird old stalker dude – a 68-year-old guy who bid nearly $60,000 for a dinner with Palin, and then bought a residence next door to one of her homes.
I frankly am worried about Palin’s young daughters at this point.
You should be ashamed of yourself for enabling this weird old stalker guy.Posted by: pwel

•But, I suppose someone who is a fan of Palin would not understand art or culture. But I’m sure you’re an expert. You reek of arrogance and stupidity. Posted by: Azarkhan

• The writer of this piece of Washington Post slime is just a disgusting as the piece of slime who moved next door to Palin to do another phony ‘expose’ piece. The Liberal MSM is too filthy even for a sewer. Posted by: fgoepfert1
