WaPo’s Attribution Problem Worsens…

As of late, WaPo has shown clear inability, no, more like utter reckless defiance, when it comes to crediting other publications around town that blatantly break news before them. Another example emerges with The Reliable Source, which reported the “news” that SNL’s Seth Meyers is going to host the 2011 White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner on April 30. WaPo reported their “news” on Dec. 8 at 1:43 p.m.

They even have the audacity to say “This just in…” when really, it was an exclusive This Just In By Politico‘s Mike Allen about six hours earlier at 7:43 a.m. Of course, no credit to Allen, whose story is here. It’s not that garden variety readers will ever realize this is happening. But journalists all over town know that it is — this should be embarrassing enough.
