WaPo’s Jennifer Rubin Schools Professor Klein

Usually, Ezra Klein is the one at WaPo sounding professorial. But Monday morning, his conservative counterpart Jennifer Rubin, who pens “Right Turn” for the paper, was the one doing the schooling.

Rubin wrote about Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker and his standoff with public employee unions, and, in the process, took swipes at Klein. She says “liberals insist that Walker is singling out public-employee unions unfairly,” and includes Klein among them. She then says: “Perhaps Ezra doesn’t understand the legal definition of ‘default,’ but [his] analogy is inaccurate.”

Later, Rubin writes, “Ezra and other liberal commentators would have us believe that Republicans are unfairly picking on public sector unions. This ignores some very compelling math.”

Ouch.

We reached out to Klein, wondering if he was planning on responding. He didn’t answer. He never answers.
