Much-Anticipated Oven Mitt Prize Finally Delivered to WaPo Tomato-Contest Winner

A winner of WaPo‘s 2011 Top Tomato recipe contest has finally received the long-awaited oven mitt the winners were promised.

As FishbowlDC reported in July, a year went by and winners of the contest still had no received the prize. The delay was chalked up to “printing issues” during a reader Q&A with WaPo‘s food editor Bonnie Benwick (who looks a little like Sally Field).

Winners from the 2011 contest were notified they would receive their mitts soon, and with them, a conciliatory cookbook.

To the right is a photo of the mitt. We’re told the winner who received it finds it fabulous. And we love a happy ending.
