Howard Kurtz, CNN host and WaPo columnist, went pimping this weekend. We counted 15 Twitter advertorial messages among the ones posted here, and by God, we know he’s got a weekend program called “Reliable Sources.”

A D.C. journalist remarked, “I wish there was a way to turn off Kurtz’s tweets as the weekend approaches. So many self-pimps? We get it, you have a television program.”

This is just the beginning. Each week we’ll count them up.

Asked for comment on this pimp method of advertising for his show, Kurtz defended the practice, saying, “Announcing the guests and linking to the video? I think I’m restrained by Twitter standards!”
