Weigel Hostility Brewing – Or is it WHYGULL?

Note to Weigel: This is a hug

WaPo‘s conservative blogger Dave Weigel is taking a lot of heat today (which we’ll dig up and bring to you later in our Journo Hate Mail feature). For now, watch a little of what’s happening with him on Twitter as the result of his views on the Rep. Bob Etheridge (D-N.C.) video:

Weigel: Amazing how many people are obviously reading the Drudge headline, not my post, and sending me hate mail anyway. (The Drudge headline is: WASH POST: NOT AN ASSAULT, A ‘HUG’…)
Weigel: Also, how do these idiots click a link that says “e-mail dave weigel” and go on to misspell my name?
Wonkette to Weigel: @daveweigel You’re trying to trick us into reading Drudge, aren’t you WIEGAL?
Weigel to Wonkette: @Wonkette Dude, it’s WHYGY11L.

At the root of today’s criticism for Weigel is his description of the congressman’s behavior toward the college kids in the video broke by Breitbart TV this morning, which Weigel refers to on his blog today as “a hug.”

“The second camera rolled as Etheridge, irritated, held the wrist of the first cameraman, then pulled the student to his side and grabbed him in a hug,” he wrote.
