What If Plame Fell In A Forest And No One Was Around?
Getting ready for today’s 3 p.m. chat, we’re trying to catch up on the Plame/Rove leak investigation reading and learning some interesting stuff:
USA Today’s Mark Memmott, D.C.’s best investigative bookhound, argues today that the outing of Plame’s name might not be a crime at all.
It appears that Plame and her husband were stateside for six years prior to Bob Novak‘s infamous column and the statute would only apply if they had been overseas in the previous five years.
This harkens back to a March motion where a host of news agencies asked the court’s to figure out whether a crime had happened before they decided on Cooper/Miller. Might Judy Miller be doing time for not talking about a non-crime?
