One FishbowlDC reader has a thought on the mysterious VP pool report:
the sr official was probably cheney himself and that he might have gone from background to off-the-record, perhaps because he used an expletive to characterize the question. unlike bush, cheney almost always briefs reporters traveling abroad with him as “a senior administration official,” which is sort of silly since he is arguably the most powerful veep in history.
