Whitaker Leaves WPNI

From WPNI’s Caroline Little:

It is with mixed emotions we announce that Mark Whitaker will be leaving WPNI to join NBC as Senior Vice President, the number two position under Steve Capus overseeing day-to-day national and international coverage and special projects for all their platforms (network, cable, web, etc).

Mark has been an outspoken champion of WPNI and its sites, both internally and externally, and has injected a real sense of energy and innovation as head of new ventures here. With the expertise of Jeanie Pyun and her team, and the help of Rob Curley’s team, Goli Sheikholeslami and others, Mark steered the creation and recent launch of Sprig with amazing success.

Mark’s new role at NBC is very exciting and will draw on his extensive news magazine background. We wish him all the best, and thank him for all that he has contributed to WPNI.

We are deeply committed to new ventures and new sites, and plan to continue exploring new territory on the Web.
