White House Leaks (No, Literally)

Cox’x Ken Harmen reports on the Palm Beach Post’s blog this morning that the West Wing press room basement, where several news organizations are housed, is leaking. “By this morning, the fine work of government employees –armed with fans and vacuums — had the situation under control. Only mild dampness remains as additional heavy showers are expected to rumble through today.”

A long term plan to deal with the “antiquated press room” is underway. The press corps will move to temporary quarters on August 4, allowing the revamp of the press area to be completed.

The White House is also completing the removal of the elm tree planted by Teddy Roosevelt, a causality of the storms.
