Why is an Interview With Boehner ‘Rare’?

CNBC released an alert announcing that House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) is rare. So we wondered, why is it rare? He has appeared relatively recently on Fox News Sunday, NBC’s MTP and FNC’s “On the Record” with Greta Van Susteren.

The “rare” interview happens airs tonight at 7 p.m. Excerpts will air throughout the day.

We requested a comment from CNBC on why this is considered an unusual interview. CNBC Spokeswoman Jennifer Dauble explained, “Speaker of the House Boehner does not grant many interviews, especially to business & financial news.”
