Chris Cillizza had the scoop last night Jim Rutenberg broke the news about Howard Wolfson‘s new gig at Fox News, and now FNC is out with a release, which we have after the jump…
- HOWARD WOLFSON JOINS FOX NEWS CHANNEL AS CONTRIBUTOR
FOX News Channel (FNC) has signed Howard Wolfson as a contributor, announced John Moody, Executive Vice President of News Editorial. Wolfson, the former co-chief strategist and communications director for Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton’s campaign for President, is scheduled to make his debut on the network on Wednesday, July 9th.
In making the announcement, Moody said, “Howard was part of the inner working circle of Senator Clinton’s campaign and has a unique perspective on just how unconventional this election year already is. He has proven himself on key campaigns throughout the last decade and is recognized as one of the top communications and political thinkers in the Democratic Party. We look forward to benefiting from his insight during the general election campaign and beyond.â€
In addition to his contributor position with FOX News, Wolfson will resume his role as a partner in the Glover Park Group, a strategic communications firm where he has worked since 2002. There, he focuses on integrated campaigns as well as political advertising and communications and crisis management.
Throughout the course of his career, Wolfson was a senior advisor to Senator Clinton in her 2000 senate campaign, as well as the senior communications strategist for the Democratic National Committee in 2004, and the communications director for Senator Charles Schumer (D-NY) during his 1998 election campaign. He also served as the Executive Director of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee in 2001 and 2002, where he oversaw advertising in more than 40 media markets and was responsible for a $50 million budget. He helped direct the campaigns of New York City Comptroller Bill Thompson and U.S. Representatives Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) and Michael Arcuri (D-NY).
