WT’s Solomon on WaPo: Imitation is Flattery

If imitation is the most sincere form of flattery, then Wash Times Exec. Editor John Solomon says “The Washington Post flatters us all the time.”

FishbowlDC contacted Solomon after hearing buzz from the newsroom that after 18 years as a WaPo subscriber, Solomon would not be renewing his subscription. Sources tell FishbowlDC that Solomon poked fun at the Post today saying, “why would I pay $230.00 to read articles we wrote a week ago.”

When asked about the canceled subscription, Solomon laughed and told us, “any jokes made about the Post are all in good fun.”

So, does WT’s exec. editor really believe that WaPo is parroting his pub? Solomon told us, “I’ll just say, if imitation is the most sincere form of flattery then we are incredibly flattered by the Post’s imitations of our exclusives,” citing a slew of examples including one from today’s paper:
