Actor Andy Griffith died this morning at his home in Manteo, North Carolina. The cause of death has yet to be determined, but he was 86 years old at his passing. Griffith was best known for his role of the sheriff of Mayberry on the Andy Griffith Show as well as the indefatigable lawyer Matlock. He also happened to be Grandpa Simpson’s favorite TV star.
