Arlen Specter Meets FBLA

We have not had our coffee yet here at day two of Netroots Nation. We waded through the political button clad crowd to the sanctuary (and free coffee) of the filing room. The room was packed with journalist from the Wall Street Journal (Jake Sherman) and other publications…from those things called “newspapers” and stuff.

Then newly Democratic (again) Senator Arlen Specter came up to us at the back of the room and shook our hand. “You have a good spot sitting right here. Right near the door.”

“Always good to have an exit plan, Senator.” Which is what we would have gotten out had we had coffee yet.

But alas we said something like, “Yeah, huh.”

Then the Senator held a press (old media press) conference, opening with the importance of – wait for it – blogging.

Yeah, it’s a new America.
