Barack Obama Campaign Seizes MySpace Page, Friends Flee

barack-obama.jpg

Barack Obama’s campaign got Los Angeles paralegal, Joe Anthony, to stop his politicking for the Senator via MySpace. Anthony set up the page 3 years ago and got more than 30,000 friends–before Obama even announced he was running.

As traffic to the site increased, Anthony asked the campaign for some compensation–and Obama’s operatives turned him down and tattled to MySpace. Staffers took over the site, and predictably, the friends have fled– 22,000 friends compared to 160,000 at the beginning of this week.

Is Anthony a cybersquatter?
