Say Hello to the Beverly Hills Bedbug
In Los Angeles, even a story about an impending west coast infestation of bedbugs can easily have a celebrity twist to it.
Among the places the blood-sucking scourge has started turning up on the west coast is Beverly Hills retail. What’s more, per a disturbing December 4th article in the LA Times, the person hired to deal with the Golden Triangle incident was not simply an exterminator. Rather, Mike Masterson is a Discovery Channel reality TV star and former celebrity bodyguard for the likes of Joan Rivers and Olivia Newton-John.
Isotech Pest Management, based in Covina, won’t name the store it recently treated in Beverly Hills, but co-owner Masterson predicted that over the holidays “we’re going to see such an influx of bedbugs in stores that it’s going to catch a lot of people off guard.”
You know it’s bad when a company like Isotech has someone working for them, Erik Alden, whose official title is Canine and Bedbug Supervisor. Kind of makes us nostalgic for the time when we only had to worry about the Grinch stealing Christmas.
