51RQ68H4FML._SL500_AA240_.jpg We just got word that Fiona Shields, the Pagination Manager who had been with the LA Weekly for 17 years has been laid off. On Christmas Eve.

Geez.

There might be more to go and there might not. We were told by an employee,”There’s a level of fear in the office right now, but that might be it.”

So we’ll hold off on posting the others rumored to be losing their jobs – because wow, wouldn’t that be a crappy Google Alert to get by accident today. Oh and even CRAPPIER to get it when it’s true!

This is horrible. We’re going to drown our sorrows in vegan egg nog. And yes, it’s just as gross as the real stuff.
