Breaking: Premiere Shuts Down

Hachette Filipachi has shut down Premiere magazine, according to Ad Age. The magazine will continue online.

FishbowlLA has learned that the announcement came to the about-20 staffers from company president Jack Kliger at about 1 p.m. today. It is unclear right now which print staffers might be staying to continue online.

During the announcement, there was very little fanfare. Everyone expressed their sadness at what a great brand it is. Staffers were told that they had til Tuesday evening to clear their desks.

The magazine has been home to media luminaries like Martha Stewart Living‘s Susan Lyne, L.A. Times’ Rachel Abramowitz and John Horn, Newsweek‘s Sean Smith, Entertainment Weekly‘s Christine Spines, among many others.

April will be the final issue of the magazine.
