Cathy Seipp Feud Update

racoon.jpgI’ll write a full recap of the FishbowlLA launch party once the photos come in. (It’s weird, the lab is having trouble processing any photo with Richard Rushfield in it. In every shot he’s translucent– like a spectral wraith, caught between the worlds of the living and undead. I’m sure it’s just the lighting.)

However, I didn’t want to delay the big news any longer. CATHY SEIPP AND JOSEPH MAILANDER TOTALLY HOOKED UP. Okay, well, no. But what might have been a hostile encounter turned out to be, dare I say, pleasant. From Seipp’s blog:

I’m afraid I’ve given Joseph rather a hard time over the past year, even though I actually have rather a soft spot for him. But when he met me in person naturally he was charmed. (Or at least that’s what he said: “Charmed.”)

So: One Seipp feud down. However, she is now trading email snipes with Donna Ljungaeus, a member of the LA Press Club board and an LA-based correspondent for the Swedish media. (I just spent twenty minutes trying to come up with a way to work a pun about ‘Swedish media-balls’ into this post. No such luck.)

I don’t know if there’s a long backstory to the Seipp-Ljungaeus feud, but the current flare-up has to do with the sloppiness of the event listings on the LAPC website.

Their emails after the jump, with addresses redacted.

UPDATE: At the request of one of the participants, I have taken down the emails. And the event listings on the LA Press Club site are now typo-free and properly organized. Furthermore, I am told by a reliable source that this incident was not so much a feud as a minor little flare-up, which has now passed into history. Which, frankly, is a relief, because I think that in a drunken moment at the FishbowlLA launch party I agreed to be Seipp’s second if anyone ever challenged her to a duel.

Related Not-Quite-Blind Item (Myopic Item?): What local conservative journalist/commentator asked me to take down two different perfectly nice photos of him or her because he or she deemed them unflattering?
