CBS Plays Debbie Downer to 48HR Magazine

12648hr.jpgCBS has issued a cease and desist letter to 48HR magazine, that neat little project where a bunch of journalism types came together to produce a magazine in one weekend. CBS lawyers claim that the mag violates the trademarks for its series 48 Hours and 48 Hours Mystery. The folks at 48HR mag think that’s bullshit, but as they explain on their website, “we don’t have the money and resources to fight them.” So they’ve hired a lawyer and are trying to work things out with the soulless corporation.

It’s a magazine produced entirely in one weekend. 48 hours. What would you call it?

As if print wasn’t dead enough already. Thanks, CBS.
