Legend Paul Newman has died after a battle with cancer.
Lynn Smith wrote the obit for LAT. It was a touching tribute to the actor and activist.
Our favorite line, that summed up why we loved Newman for something other than his looks:
He was thrilled, friends said, when he heard that he had made President Nixon’s enemies list.
