Dialing for Dollars: Eva Georgia’s Big Severance at KPFK

kpfklogo10.jpg

Marc Cooper does the math, as they say, and finds that KPFK paid nearly 9 months worth of severance pay to Eva Georgia, the controversial station manager. He writes:

Even the infinitely wealthier Tribune Co., owner of the L.A. Times, recently offered notably generous buyout packages equivalent to two weeks’ salary for every year worked. KPFK, all of a sudden, can afford to be three times more generous than the Times?

Upon learning of the platinumn handshake, news reporter Molly Paige reinsituted her sexual harrassment lawsuit, which she’d previously withdrawn in exchange for a public apology and Georgia’s leaving the station.

Cooper’s all abubble with pledge break special ideas, too.

Fige Bornu, the “creative revolutionary” isn’t sad to see her go.
