Don’t squeeze the Sharma: Indian doc maker pinched for shooting in Gotham

More excellent news on the civil liberties front: An award-winning Indian documentary-maker named Rakesh Sharma sued New York City on Tuesday because police ordered him to stop filming a doc about NYC’s cabbies in 2005 and detained him for four hours, apparently thinking he was plotting a terror attack. yellow_cabs.jpg

Honestly, if the cops in New York start arresting Indian guys with cameras, they’re going to have to shut down all of Sixth Avenue.

We’re officially scared.

(In other Gotham cabbie headlines, apparently, there is life after driving a hack.)
