Exclusive: Patrick Day Joins The Hollywood Reporter

FishbowlLA has learned that the founding producer of the LA Times‘ blog The Envelope, Patrick Day, has joined The Hollywood Reporter as deputy editor of the mag’s website.

Day’s formal title with the Times was deputy online editor of entertainment news. Aside from his work on The Envelope, Day also contributed to the Times‘ 24 Frames, Show Tracker and Hero Complex blogs. Day’s departure feels like a big loss for pretty much the only major newspaper website in the country that’s actually growing.

Meanwhile, THR’s website was already doing quite well for itself. The addition of Day will only help.

Day will be reunited with and report to his former LA Times editor Joseph Kapsch.
