Surf Mag Welcomes New Editor-in-Chief

Female surf and lifestyle publication Fashion Ocean Art Music, a.k.a. FOAM magazine, has got a new person set to ride the editorial long board. Sari Tuschman, most recently the editor-in-chief at Los Angeles Confidential, will be taking over from Kristina Dechter in the same EIC capacity.

The new professional home of Dechter, who oversaw FOAM for the past four years, says a lot about today’s changing media landscape. From the press release put out by the magazine’s parent company, Madavor:

Dechter will be leaving her post as editor-in-chief of FOAM magazine to be editorial director of TheSylish, a new premium YouTube channel produced by Magical Elves and InStyle magazine.

“Moving to California to spearhead the re-branding of FOAM was the best decision I’ve ever made,” said Decther. “I’ve had the privilege to create content for the ultimate beach girl in a space where she wasn’t previously represented. I’ve had the opportunity to work with some of the best athletes, designers, photographers, stylists, and writers.”

While FOAM operates in sunny SoCal, Madavor oversees things from the less breaker-friendly confines of Quincy, MA. Other publications in the company portfolio include Jazz Times, Volleyball and Gluten-Free Living.
