Just in time for the start of baseball season, our neighbors to the south in San Diego are now part of the Fox Sports Net regional sports family.

Fox Sports San Diego launched over the weekend and is the new home of the San Diego Padres.

The organization signed a 20-year broadcast deal with Fox last year, saying goodbye to Cox Communications’ Channel 4 San Diego in the process.

The network’s programming will mirror Prime Ticket in Los Angeles, so expect a heavy dose of the Los Angeles Clippers, Anaheim Ducks and UCLA and USC athletics. FS San Diego is expected to strike deal with the local colleges including San Diego State and University of San Diego.

The channel is only available on Cox Cable and DirecTV as Time Warner, Dish and AT&T U-verse haven’t come to terms with Fox as of yet.
