I’m looking to start a blog that deals with los angeles area crime. The problem is I don’t know where to get my info from. Where do I get the latest most up to date information? Is there a feed I can subscribe too? is there a number I can call? a website perhaps? or do I need a to take a journalism class? I’m just fed up with the lack of coverage of the crazy shit that happens in this city. Maybe i should buy a police scanner. Well any help from the pros would be greatly appreciated.

We like that there is still no pay. We’re guessing the poster just got their car broken into. “I’ve always not liked the media – this time – it’s personal!”
It’s rare that our local media gets blamed for not covering enough crime. It’s like kvetching that the local TV news isn’t schmaltzy or celebrity based enough. We need more stories about what happened on Dancing With the Stars last night. Or perhaps a whole segment about how best to dye your pubic hair.
In a related story, LAT Homicide Blog has been on hiatus since Nov. 13th. So maybe there should be a vigil – somewhere.
