GOOD: July/August Issue

image002.gif

The July/August issue of GOOD hits the streets soon. This issue, the 5th, explores, in the words of the press release:

how our government works, how it works for us, and the people who work for it. The federal government may have its shortcomings, but we must also recognize the men and women who strive to make this country better.

If any of those earnest strivers happen to have government jobs, we think it’s a coincidence, but we’re far more jaded than the people at GOOD.

In the issue:

Volunteers well-chosen photo essay on men and women in the armed forces; best part of the book.

Portraits: Danica McKellar and her math-mad activism. Fun read.

Transparency: Getting to Know the Homeless data by graphics is not very informative.

The monthly back-of-the-book project invites readers to make a mix tape with a theme. Unfortunately, someone already had our idea.
