Heidi Watney Headed to MLB Network

Almost a year ago to the day, we told you that NESN reporter Heidi Watney was on her way to becoming one of the first hires over at Time Warner SportsNet.

Watney never worked a minute covering the Los Angeles Lakers and mysteriously left the network in September (the Boston Globe discovered a theory as to why she left).

Well, the University of San Diego graduate has resurfaced with a new gig on the MLB Network as a studio host and reporter.

“I’m extremely excited to return to baseball by joining MLB Network’s on-air talent lineup. Baseball is a true passion of mine and I’m looking forward to covering all 30 MLB clubs 365 days a year,” said Watney in a statement.

She will make her MLB Network debut in January.
