DC’s Human Events Hires Away OC Register Opinion Maker

The tag line for online-print publication Human Events is “More Powerful Conservative Voices.” So it stands to reason that if the publication’s new editor was going to come from Southern California, the OC would something to do with it.

In a website announcement posted today, the DC publication has confirmed that Orange County Register opinion and commentary editor Cathy Taylor will be joining Human Events as editor. As part of her new duties, she will also get the title of editorial director of Human Events Group:

Joe Guerriero, vp/group publisher of the Human Events Group explained, “It took many months to conduct a thorough national search to find someone with Cathy’s experience, but it was definitely worth the effort. We are thrilled to have this award-winning journalist and seasoned business builder on our team.”

Prior to joining the Register in 1996, Taylor worked with the Los Angeles Business Journal and earned her degree in journalism from USC. To this one-time Daily Trojan editor, who officially starts her new job next month, FishbowlLA offers hearty congrats.
