If Los Angeles Was a Perfume…..

Chandler Burr, the NY Times’ perfume critic, compares certain scents to various Hollywood icons: Technicolor, Awards season and uber-agencies. FBLA thinks it would be nice for Theresa Duncan to take a whack at a similar subject.
Jade Chang, in the LA Weekly’s Best of issue asked local artisan perfumers what LA smells like and got some interesting answers:
Jasmine, with magnolia to richen it and sweeten it, then to lift it just a little bit, orange blossom and lemon, not even a perceptible amount, but enough to give it crispness.
FBLA thinks tar, the ocean and stale popcorn have to figure in there somewhere.
