Three months ago, Tony Pierce noticed a monumental ring on the engagement-wedding finger of CBS 2 weather gal Jackie Johnson. It was, he blogged, a “developing” story tinged quite possibly with (his) “infinite sadness.”

Last Friday, Pierce—formerly blog editor at the LA Times and now working in that same capacity at KPCC—was able to confirm his summer scoop, via Johnson’s posting of June Aruba Antigua wedding pictures on her Facebook page. It’s rather amazing that she was able to keep this all so quiet. Noted Pierce:

OK, so the busblog was two months late on the news, but do you know anyone else who even whispered about it? Anyways, congratulations Jackie Johnson. When you are telling us the news, we stop what we’re doing. Quite a trick when we’re talking about LA weather, which is generally lovely. Except for today.

Johnson later tweeted out words of thanks to Pierce for his Friday blog post. Her wedding pics are similar to those shared last month by KTLA couple Mark Kriski and Jennifer Gould, minus the ring-bearing dog. We join Pierce in congratulating the happy couple.
