Janet Clayton Exits LA Times

Janet Clayton has resigned from the LA Times, after 30 years. Most recently, she’d been AME of state and local news. So did she jump or was she pushed? The paper’s been told to beef up the local coverage; wouldn’t that be a good thing for her?

And she’d just hired four fresh young (read: cheaper) writers, too.

While the official story is that she left to pursue “other opportunities”, maybe she took Mickey Kaus’ advice:
