Just when you thought this season couldn’t get any worse for the Los Angeles Lakers, Kobe Bryant suffered a sprained left ankle in the final seconds of Wednesday’s 96-92 loss to the Atlanta Hawks and is out indefinitely.
As for how Bryant got hurt is up for debate as the Black Mamba felt Atlanta’s Dahntay Jones intentionally slid his foot underneath him, venting to Yahoo! Sports’ Adrian Wojnarowski via email Wednesday night:
In an email to Yahoo! Sports late Wednesday night, Bryant said that Jones “threw his hip and lower body into mine on the shot. That’s a foul with 100 percent certainty. Dirty and dangerous play. Doesn’t belong in the game.”
“I can’t get my mind past the fact that I’ve got to wait a year to get revenge,” Bryant said.
In case you aren’t familiar with what Bryant accused Jones of, former NBA guard and ESPN personality Jalen Rose pulled this move on Kobe during the 2000 NBA Finals:
Fair or foul, Bryant will have a lot more time on his hands to tweet, which really is a win-win for all of the Internet.
