Laura Bush: Jenna’s “Ellen” Call Was Not A Hoax
The good people at the Washington Times report that aides to first lady Laura Bush insisted that Jenna Bush’s call from the set of Ellen was not a White House PR stunt.
“Absolutely not,” said Sally McDonough, the first lady’s communication director, when asked if the call was staged.
“I was completely surprised,” said Linsdsey Lineweaver, Mrs. Bush’s personal aide, who took Jenna’s call Tuesday.
We don’t know what is more scary: the fact that the White House feels the need to lie about a talk-show bit or the prospect that it’s telling the truth and Laura Bush really was “just sitting here with daddy” in the middle of the day. During a war.
