African American News Site Loop21.com Continues Hiring Spree

Up and running with a crisp, uncluttered home page design and major content partnerships, African American focused news site Loop21.com is gearing up for a major re-launch.

To help support these efforts, the LA based minority-perspective outfit has hired Chloe Hilliard as editorial director and Abena Agyeman-Fisher as senior news editor. Both have impressive journalistic backgrounds. Per today’s press release:

Hilliard has been a culture-entertainment journalist for over ten years… Prior to joining Loop21.com, she served as the managing editor and social media Manager for VIBE, a leading urban entertainment magazine and website. She also was a staff writer for The Village Voice.

Agyeman-Fisher most recently worked for AOL as the news manager of Black Voices. Previously, she worked for the New York Times Company as an associate health editor.

This is the second wave of 2011 hires for Loop21.com, following the turn-of-the-year recruitment of an executive editor and four other editors.
