Mark Kriski Forecast: I’m NOT Leaving KTLA

On Thursday, October 21st, a pair of local media watch blogs – Southern California News Wire and SoCal Media Scoop – posted items suggesting that long-time KTLA Morning News weatherman Mark Kriski had been let go. But this morning, he was still on the air.

In response to a tweet yesterday from a follower asking, “Did Mark Kriski just get fired?”, colleague Eric Spillman responded this morning with the reply, “Don’ think so.”

Then, just an hour later, Kriski himself tweeted the full forecast: “Thanks, but NOT leaving KTLA… I’ll be doing 7a-10a instead of all 5hrs!”

In this case at least, the Career Storm Watch turned out to be all wet. Or, as another Kriski colleague, Jennifer Gould, suggested on her Twitter feed: “I hate when RUMOR gets in the way of the FACTS… Just sayin!”
