Matt Fleischer Joins True/Slant

Matt Fleischer sent us an email begging us to post about his latest attempt at infamy – a column at the new media business model hybrid True/Slant (or as everyone else calls it, ‘that site Matt Taibbi writes for’).

So we checked out what Fleischer is writing about:

And so it was with great joy today that I stumbled across the work of Leonard Gravis in the Boston Globe. It only took one clue for Mr. Gravis to reel me in. “The ____ mightier than the sword.”

Think about that one for a moment and then consider that this clue fell on space number 69 across.

Yes, the answer to 69 across in today’s Boston Globe is “Penis.” (Come on, click the links. It’s funny.)

Really, Matt? You’re opening with a dick joke? We guess if you’ve been laid off as many times as Fleischer has (LA Weekly then City Beat), a dick joke is actually a higher form a humor. The lower being the one the city workers make as they scrape you off the pavement after you’ve flung yourself off whichever building is tall enough to do the trick.
