MTV Sets Dates for 2012 Award Shows

MTV announced the dates for their two biggest award shows of the year — the MTV Movie Awards and MTV Video Music Awards.

The 21st annual MTV Movie Awards will air on Sunday, June 3, 2012 from Los Angeles and the 29th annual MTV Video Music Awards will air Sunday, Sept. 9, 2012.

No location was announced for next year’s VMAs, but the Nokia Theatre at L.A. Live has hosted the show the last two years.

With the 30th anniversary set for next year, my guess is Los Angeles will get the award show in 2012 before returning home to New York in 2013.
