NBC Stations Ready to Flip Switch on California Cable News Channel

Beginning Tuesday, May 3rd, the Peacock’s three California TV stations – KNBC Los Angeles, KNTV San Francisco, and KNSD San Diego – will debut a new, separate cable channel NBC California Nonstop.

The 24-hour California cable news stream will combine re-purposed and original content for three region-specific feeds. Among the new programs is “Nonstop News LA,” a 7 p.m nightly newscast to be anchored by Colleen Williams. Per the announcement:

“Having three television stations located in different parts of the state makes it possible for us to create the first channel dedicated to capturing the true essence of life in California,” said NBC4 LA vice president of news and content Vickie Burns. “California Nonstop will allow viewers to keep up with what’s happening in the state on both a local and regional level.”

Check your local listings. In LA for example, California Nonstop will be available on such channels as 225 (Time Warner cable), 304 (Charter), 460 (Verizon FIOS), and 804 (Cox).
