We've decided that LAT columnist Jonah Goldberg doesn't know what he's talking about either.

What is fascinating here is not the sentiment, but what's missing from it. The P-word.

To invoke patriotism seriously is to brand yourself either an old fogy or a right-wing bully. If Obama spoke about patriotism with the sort of passion he expends on unity, many would take him for some sort of demagogue.

Media Matters cited several speeches where the Senator uses the P-word. Or several times in one sentence as in the one below.

From October 2, 2002, Obama said:

"And I know that in this crowd today, there is no shortage of patriots, or of patriotism."

Is it patriotic to be embarrassed that Goldberg is a LAT columnist?
