Newsstand Magazine Sales Drop — Oprah Still Doing Fine

Oprah.png Dylan Stableford charts the continued decline of newsstand magazine sales over at the The Wrap.

“Single copy sales — i.e. newsstand — fell 9 percent during the second half of 2009; paid subscriptions dipped 2.3 percent.

Of the top 25 best-selling newsstand magazines, 20 were either flat or down during the last six months of 2009.

Just five — Real Simple, O, The Oprah Magazine, Vanity Fair, Us Weekly, People Stylewatch — managed to increase the number of copies sold.”

Amazing. No matter how low the print world sinks, Oprah still finds a way to make money. O, The Oprah Magazine’s newsstand circulation is up 5.8%.

In 50 years, when we’re all living in a cannibalistic, post-apocalyptic, global warming-induced water-world, Oprah’s going to launch O, For Kids! and make a killing.
