Variety editor-in-chief Peter Bart has long been known — and quite proud of the fact — that he was a luddite. He hand-writes notes. He rarely uses a cell phone And it’s only in the last few years that he stopped writing his weekly Variety columns on a TYPEWRITER.

To his credit, however, Bart is finally seeing light in the blogosphere.

Like a reformed smoker or a religious zealot, Bart in his most recent column, sings the praises of blogo-mania and explains why movie and TV executives and the like are going to have to learn this blog-speak to keep ahead of the news. As Bart puts it “Snooze Or You Lose When It Comes to the News.”
