Playboy Moving Entire Operations to LA
Playboy is saying goodbye to Chicago for good.
The company’s headquarters are relocating from Chicago to Los Angeles on April 30. In December, the magazine announced the publishing team would move to the new Beverly Hills office by May, but now everyone from the Chicago office is packing up and headed west.
Chicago is the birthplace of founder Hugh Hefner and is where the magazine was created in 1953.
“Playboy’s executives have made the difficult decision to close the company’s Chicago office and move its headquarters to Los Angeles,” the company said in a statement. “The company’s roots began in Chicago, and the city will always be connected to the brand’s beginning.”
