A teaser clip for tomorrow’s HBO Real Sports episode reminds just how effortlessly Magic Johnson lights up a room.
Asked by Jon Frankel how much money he put into the Dodgers deal, Johnson said around $50 million. And to the follow-up of whether agreeing to write out the biggest check of his life gave him pause, the Laker great replied: “It wasn’t that moment though. The moment was when I had to go home and tell my wife. [Laughter] I said, ‘Honey… Sit down…’”
This is not the only recent Dodgers “Magic” video moment. At Saturday night’s game against the Cardinals, the part-owner came to the rescue after a bat boy followed protocol and wouldn’t let a young spectator keep a wayward bat. Check out that great montage here.
