Reception For Poet Elizabeth Alexander
Yesterday evening your FBLA editors attended a cocktail party celebrating the publication of a commemorative edition of Elizabeth Alexander‘s inaugural poem “Praise Song For The Day.” The party was hosted by Arianna Huffington, who always provides her guests with plenty of vegetarian hors d’oeuvres and adorable cater waiters.

FBLA editors Pandora Young and Tina Dupuy flank our favorite red-headed hostess.

Alexander recites the poem she was asked to write for Barack Obama‘s presidential inauguration.

Guests gathered in Huffington’s living room to hear Alexander’s reading.
Not pictured is Patt Morrison, who managed to escape before we could get a picture with her. Next time, Patt.
More information on the commemorative chapbook edition of Alexander’s “Praise Song for the Day” can be found at the website of publisher Greywolf Press.
