The Dictator Asks: Where Are Wadiya’s Oscar Nominations?

In this morning’s riposte to the “Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Zionists,” Sacha Baron Cohen as The Dictator cranks out the funniest lines yet for his masterful (and way cheaper than a Super Bowl spot) upside-down PR campaign.

After setting an ultimatum of noon PT Sunday for the lifting of his reported Oscars red carpet ban, he goes on to wonder why his country of Wadiya’s excellent entertainments have never been recognized by the Academy. The first movie he mentions is When Harry Kidnapped Sally. From there, it gets better.

The D-man also bemoans that his calendar for this coming Sunday is now as “empty as a North Korean grocery store.” The Dictator, from Paramount Pictures, opens in theaters May 11. Cohen, meanwhile, has apparently already skirted the supposed ban.
