Attack on Pair of Sacramento TV Reporters Takes Strange Turn

This past Sunday in the Sacramento suburb of Natomas, FOX 40 reporter John Lobertini and camerawoman Rebecca Little were assaulted by a group of citizens mourning the shooting death the night before of Chester Jackson, outside an IHOP restaurant. Here’s the video of that attack:

Monday, the makeshift memorial for the 27-year-old Jackson – in front of which the reporter incident occurred – was drive-by vandalized by an unidentified motorcyclist, who later sent this email explanation to the FOX 40 KTLX station:

I just want it to be known that this wasn’t some sort of gang-retaliation. It was because of the scum that attacked your reporters and nothing was-has been done. And I will keep doing it until they are arrested.

Police say charges in the Lobertini-Little incident can only be pursued if one of the reporters files an official citizen’s complaint.
